Cultural
Constructions

The mission of Cultural Constructions is to provide an opportunity, through concerts and workshops, for musical artists and their audiences to experience and be educated about music of different cultures. Through this multicultural environment we aim to promote an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences, to create an interaction between musicians who usually would not interact artistically, and provide a setting for these musicians to reach out to an audience who would not normally be exposed to such music. In accordance with this mission of diversity both improvised and composed music will be presented. Compositions will be commissioned for specific constructed ensembles, and funds will be sought to allow performers and composers to be fairly compensated for their creative efforts. We are dedicated to presenting concerts that challenge, inspire, and enlighten all participants.

Funding for Cultural Constructions has been gratefully received from the LEF Foundation, the Berklee College of Music Alumni Grant Program, and Tufts University.
